Founded in 2014, KidsFirst Massachusetts is a statewide coalition committed to ensuring that all at-risk children have access to high-quality early education and care. Right now, more than 24,000 children from across the Commonwealth are sitting on a wait list for affordable childcare. In order for all Massachusetts communities to thrive, we must eliminate this waiting list. Eliminating the wait list would give our most vulnerable children access to critically important early educational opportunities, while at the same time allowing their parents the childcare security they need to find and maintain gainful employment.
Members of KidsFirst Massachusetts include concerned parents and early childhood educators, including those represented by the Massachusetts Union for Human Service Workers & Educators—SEIU Local 509. Our shared effort has already won more than $35 million in investments to reduce the early education wait list, and we’re just getting started.
The efforts of KidsFirst Massachusetts can win the fight for greater access to high-quality early education and care—but only with your help.
